Late summer 2012 my young son and I relocated to Raleigh North Carolina from Atlanta Georgia. Having been in Atlanta all my life, I was more than elated to get away, but navigating a new city, especially under time and budgetary constraints has been challenging at times.
I very rarely have free time, but when I do, it’s usually spent with my son. Consequently, I’m always looking for fun (read: cheap) things for the two of us to do; I spend a lot of time Googling activities for parents and kids.
We moved here so that I can complete a graduate degree at NC State (hence the title of the blog). So, when I was tasked with developing a website for a class project, I could think of nothing more personally relevant than a blog about my experience as a recent transplant to Raleigh.
This blog has been personally fulfilling and incredibly enlightening. I am eager to have more free time during the summer months, and I anticipate steadily filling this blog with more content pertaining to our new home as I do more exploring.
Thanks for visiting.
